Swimming Gala/VE Party

David took part in an inter schools swimming gala on Monday. Unfortunately the school came last but all kids had a great time and represented the school well.

Plans are still going ahead for the VE party next week, the children have all been making bunting and flags to decorate the school with, they have also been making an "Anderson Shelter" to form the main part of their exhibition.

Foodwise it will be things like:
Sandwiches - made with HM bread
Spam, Cucumber & Lettuce, Marmite & Lettuce, Sardine & Watercress.
Carrot sticks

Shortbread
Chocolate Cake
Sausage Rolls
HM Ice Cream
Trifle
Oaty Cookies (Gypsy Creams)
Chocolate Biscuit Cake
Raisin Crisps
Oaty Macaroons

The children picked these options from cookery books of the period.

The parents and visitors will be offered a cup of tea and a slice of fruit cake, whilst they view the exhibition.
